Severe(d): Glow-In-The-Dark Horror Poetry
So, this book was really fun to make. It’s raw, gory, and even a tad uncomfortable to read and not at all your typical broken-hearted poetry book. Great! I worked with illustrator Rachel Jablonski to bring to life an exploded female figure for the cover, which reveals itself even more clearly in total darkness with glow-in-the-dark spot gloss. We printed this on Mohawk Inkswell to get the best possible color coverage on an uncoated stock, since this was the feel we were looking for. It was tricky but it worked! Still one of my favorites.
